To maximize your direct bookings, you need to understand how your guests reach your booking page and where they drop off in the process. Setting up Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on your OTÊLI BookingPage is the simplest and most free way to get these answers.
Why activate GA4 on your BookingPage?
- Understand your traffic sources: Find out if your guests come from your main website, social media, Google Business Profile listings, or referral links.
- Analyze guest behavior: Keep track of how long they spend browsing your rooms and detect if a specific rate or photo triggers an early exit.
- Keep control of your data: Your data belongs to you. OTÊLI does not access or store it. You view it directly in your own Google Analytics account.
How to get your GA4 Measurement ID? (Simple Guide)
If you don’t have a Google Analytics account yet, follow these steps:
- Go to Google Analytics and sign in with your usual Google account.
- Click Create Property and enter the name of your establishment.
- For the data collection option, select the Web platform.
- Enter your website or OTÊLI booking page URL and give the stream a name (e.g., “BookingPage”).
- Once the stream is created, your Measurement ID will be displayed in the top right corner. It always starts with
G-(e.g.,G-12345ABCDE). Copy it.
How to add it in your OTÊLI settings?
- Log in to your OTÊLI Console.
- Click on your profile avatar (located in the top right corner) to open the dropdown menu.
- Click on Settings.
- Select the My Property tab.
- Expand the Google Analytics section.
- Paste your Measurement ID in the Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID field.
- Toggle on Tracking enabled.
- Save your changes by clicking the Save changes button.
Note: A GDPR-compliant banner will automatically appear on your BookingPage to request your guests’ consent before initiating tracking.
How to read your data on your Google Analytics dashboard?
To analyze your traffic, sign in to Google Analytics and explore these three sections:
- Realtime: To verify that the connection works (perform a test by visiting your own booking page).
- Acquisition > Traffic acquisition: To find out which channel your visitors come from (organic search, direct access, social media).
- Engagement > Pages and screens: To identify the rooms or dates most frequently viewed by your future guests.
